L'il SCULPTORS
Following is a short overview of what L'il sculptors is all about.
Krystal Dreams Ice Sculptures co-ordinates a hands-on workshop, best used at both indoor and outdoor festivals, for people interested in trying their hand at the art of ice sculpture.
The artists of Krystal Dreams Ice Sculptures are on hand to offer their assistance to the aspiring sculptors. The person is given a piece of ice measuring 12 x 12 x 2 inches, a wood chisel, and a pair of gloves (supplied by us during summer). The person is asked what they would like to carve, the artist draws the design on their piece of ice, and the person carves out that shape.
The responsibilities of the festival are as follows:
* to supply at least 3 eight foot tables (the tops may get scratched up a bit)
* to supply a power source within 20' of the sculpture site
* to supply at least 4 stanchions and ropes ( for crowd control )
Our fee for this workshop is $100.00 per hour, with a three hour minimum.
We are able to accommodate 60 persons per hour. This fee covers the ice, instruction, and tools.
Workshops
As requested, Krystal Dreams Ice Sculptures' professional sculptor will provide an interactive workshop for more advance aspiring sculptors. This includes a slide show of various international sculptures, description of tools (chisels and power tools), explanation of ice making equipment and demonstration of ice sculpting techniques. The workshops are normally given to chef trainees or individuals seriously interested in ice sculpting (minimum 15 per workshop).
